CBD Vape FAQ

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-intoxicating compound in hemp and cannabis plants. Hemp plants contain over 100 similar substances, which scientists call cannabinoids. Although science still has a lot to learn about CBD and other cannabinoids, many studies have shown that these compounds may have a wide range of therapeutic benefits.

What Does CBD Do?

CBD and its sister cannabinoids have the ability to interact with a network of receptors in our bodies. This complex biological network, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), plays a role in many of the human body’s most important functions.

CBD can help our endocannabinoid system stay balanced by boosting our internal endocannabinoids and interacting with our ECS receptors in a variety of ways.

What Are Terpenes?

Terpenes are aromatic hydrocarbons that hemp plants produce to protect themselves from harmful predators and attract pollinating insects. These compounds play a huge role in giving plants their characteristic tastes and aromas.

Terpenes may also have many therapeutic effects and are the basis of alternative healing practices like aromatherapy. Scientists have isolated over 200 terpenes in hemp plants, and researchers expect that hemp and cannabis plants may contain many more that haven’t been identified yet.

How Much CBD Should I Vape?

If you’re new to vaping CBD, you should start with one or two puffs and wait 10 minutes to gauge the effects before vaping more. CBD is well-tolerated for most consumers. However, you may have some minor discomfort if you vape too much CBD all at once. If you experience uncomfortable side-effects like dizziness or unwanted drowsiness, stop vaping and wait for the effects to pass.

It’s impossible to overdose on CBD, but you may want to refrain from driving or operating heavy machinery after vaping larger quantities.

Will Vaping CBD Make Me Feel Intoxicated?

Unlike its sister cannabinoid, THC, CBD will not produce unwanted psychoactive effects, such as paranoia or intoxication. After vaping CBD, most consumers feel a sense of calm and perhaps, an energy boost or a little sleepiness, depending upon the strain and the quantity vaped.

When Congress passed the landmark Farm Bill of 2018, they removed industrial hemp and hemp-derived products, like CBD, from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. The law defined legal hemp and hemp-derived products as those which contain less than .3% delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the cannabinoid responsible for producing the “high” associated with typical cannabis plants.

Effectively, the Farm Bill made CBD products derived from industrial hemp legal under federal law as long as they contain less than .3% THC. Hemp and cannabis products that contain more than .3% THC remain prohibited under federal law. CBD products that have been extracted from high-THC “marijuana” plants or those that contain more than .3% THC are federally illegal.

To avoid misunderstandings with law enforcement, consumers should consult the product’s Certificate of Analysis (COA). COA’s are official documents issued by third-party labs that test products for cannabinoid content and purity. Furthermore, consumers should respect all state and local laws regarding CBD use and public vaping.

Will Vaping CBD Show Up on a Drug Test?

A false positive from vaping CBD is unusual but not impossible. We recommend that you try a CBD isolate if you suspect an upcoming drug screening for cannabis. You may also wish to inform the screening authority that you have been vaping legal CBD to prevent misunderstandings.

Can Children Vape CBD?

We do not recommend that children vape CBD. JustKana does not sell our products to minors under the age of 21.

Are There Any Side-Effects Possible from Vaping CBD?

Most consumers experience no side-effects when vaping CBD. However, vaping larger quantities may produce some mild side-effects, such as:

  • Diarrhea
  • Sleepiness
  • Dry mouth and eyes
  • Dizziness
  • Appetite changes

Most CBD side-effects can be remedied by reducing the amount of CBD vaped in a session or limiting the number of vaping sessions per day.

Will Vaping CBD Help Me Sleep?

Getting adequate rest has become a major problem in today’s modern world. Many of our customers find vaping CBD in the evenings helpful to unwind and get a good night’s rest. If you’re having persistent problems sleeping, we suggest that you consult with your trusted medical professional to see if you have a serious underlying condition.

Can Vaping CBD Help Me Quit Smoking?

Every person faces different challenges when they try to quit smoking tobacco. That said, some smokers find that vaping CBD helps them relax and avoid the temptation to smoke tobacco products.

Will Vaping CBD Help with My Anxiety?

Many of our customers choose our disposable vape pens to help reduce stress and tension. However, our CBD Vape Pens are not intended to cure clinical anxiety. Please visit your doctor if you have persistent problems with anxiety. A qualified physician can help you find out if vaping CBD may be useful to you.

Is Vaping CBD Safe?

As we have mentioned earlier, there has never been a case of overdose from vaping CBD. However, there have been medical difficulties caused by black market vapes. Consumers should only use legal vape products that have been tested by an unbiased third-party lab.

An official Certificate of Analysis can tell you how much CBD and THC the product contains and if the product has been contaminated with any harmful pollutant, such as heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, or residual solvents. JustKana proudly displays links to our current Certificates of Analysis right on our website.
